Punches N’ Paradigms

A “Punch dialogue” (hereafter called Punch as they call it in Tamil Film Industry) is a rhetoric device used by the Hero mostly to prove a point to the Villain .This will be often accompanied by blaring name chanting of the hero as a background voice . That would explain one half of the title of the post and you have to read the entire post  to understand what has it got to do with a corporate buzzword such as “Paradigm”. As my knowledge of films is limited to Tamil Cinema (“Kollywood”!!!), I have compiled the best among the best  among the Punch  of Tamil Cinema in the recent times. I tend to classify the generations based on the media that one grew up with. My mother is from the Radio era where people would sit around the radio to listen to their favorite song or the drama. I grew up watching the “First Channel” of the Doordarshan and the “Second channel” was a luxury. Then, My jaws would drop in awe when the visiting  cousins from the distant lands speak about 40 channels for News alone. The 90’s  saw the explosion of the satellite television so much so that , suddenly, the visiting cousins began  deviating the topic when we start discussing about the Television. All this has  led to the genY that my daughter is growing up in ,of what I call as the “Reality” show generation. I first came to know about the reality shows after the ungraceful episode involving  Shilpa Shetty in the Big Brother show.Later, I lost the sympathy for her after knowing the riches that she reaped at the show. Nowadays the Reality shows are so rampant that they have emerged as the

Paying more than the Due

I t never seems it will never close out, ever!!! you would know what I am talking about if you have a home loan against your name. The outstanding amount never seems to diminish causing lot of “house induced heartburn”. Please read on, If you can take some head ache along with the burn. As an example, If you got a home loan of Rs.30 Lakhs at 10% interest for a period of 20 years (EMI of Rs.29,000), the total amount you would have paid at the end of 20 years is Rs 69.5 Lakhs.Yes you read it right …The total amount you would have paid is more than double the loan. This is due to the interest component of the loan. On the other hand, If you got the same loan of Rs.30 Lakhs at 10% interest for a period of 10 years(EMI of Rs.40000),the total amount you would have paid at the end of 10 years is Rs.47.5 Lakhs. Yes you read it right again…Not only you would have got the home under your name in 10 years but also saved a whopping amount of 22 Lakhs that would have gone in as the Interest
