Observing

Observing Jiddu Krishnamurti Book of Life We look at the world once, in childhood. The rest is memory. —Louise Gluck If you want to understand a child You must live her and  Not condemn her You must play with him Watch her movements Her idiosyncrasies His ways of behavior But if you merely condemn, resist or blame him There is no comprehension of the child!  Similarly to understand what is, One must observe What one thinks, feels, and does from  Moment to moment That is the actual! My Note:  Somewhere , JK says: If you analyze, dissect, judge ,  The liveliness goes away Be like an scientist who studies the ants!  She merely observes the ants what the ant is up to!

Advice on Writing

A dvice on Writing Octavia Butler Works of art are not born in flashes of Inspiration, but in daily fidelity … Albert Camus Credos to be a writer 1. To Read books 2. To write, everyday , whether you like it or not - screw inspiration !!! 3. Forget talent - if you may not have 4. Keep showing up - Irrespective of popularity of works!

We are what we possess

We are what we possess Jiddu Krishnamurti Book of Life We are empty shells If we dont possess If we dont fill our life with furniture, With music, with knowledge,  With this or that And that shell makes a lot of noise And that noise we call living And with that we are satisfied And when there is a disruption A breaking away of that Then there is sorrow Because then you discover yourself As you are - an empty shell Without much meaning! My notes: We are what we possess And then the possession posses us!

Relationship is a mirror

Relationship is a mirror Jiddu Krishnamurti Book of Life Relationship is a mirror  In which I see myself as I am! But most of us dont like What we are! We begin to discipline either positively or negatively What we perceive in the mirror of relationship The moment there is a passion of  What I should be There is no comprehension of  ‘What I am’ If we are merely concerned with self-improvement There is no comprehension of ourselves of ‘What is’

Intensity free of all attachment

Intensity free of all attachment Jiddu Krishnamurti Book of Life In a state of passion without a cause, There is intensity free of all attachment; But when passion has a cause, There is attachment Attachment is the beginning of sorrow! Most of us are attached We cling to a person, to a country To a belief To an idea And when the object of our attention  Is taken away, or otherwise loses its significance We find ourselves empty, insufficient This emptiness we try to fill by Clinging to something else, Which again becomes the object of our passion!

Use the Difficulty!

Use the Difficulty! Michael Caine I have one philosophy : “Use the Difficulty” What does that mean? When I was an young actor .  I was rehearsing a play I had to come in  the scene: Entering a flat :  An husband and Wife arguing inside They were improvising the scene The husband throws  a chair that lands in the doorway: Now I had to get in and could not I had to intervene and said: I am sorry sir , I cannot get in! Pat came the reply : “ Use the difficulty” What do you mean? If its a comedy fall over the chair If its a drama, pick it up and smash it!  There is no thing ever so bad that  You cannot use that difficulty!  Use it even 1% of your advantage. It won't let you down!  Thats my philosophy:  Use that difficulty!  In the book "The Upanishads" by Eknath Eswaran Michael Nagler writes the following in his commentary Whether we live in the Forest Ashram or Las Angeles Downtown the job of being Human means learning to convert our inherited tendencies from problems int

Thinking begets effort!

Thinking begets effort ! Jiddu Krishnamurti Book of Life There is the mind : the receptor of senses Then there is the intellect :   that analyzes, judges , discriminates and censors And then the “I” - Ego- that says This is bad ; I must throw this out This is good - I must keep this thought So you have this struggle  The effort to put away thoughts  Not to be wayward! We have in this very process of thinking  Created the problem of effort Then you give birth to discipline , controlling thought The “I” controlling the thought Wehich is not good The “I” trying to be nonenvious , non-violent  To be this and to be that So you have brought into being  The very process of effort When there is th “I”  And the thing that is controlling My note šŸ‘JK seems to say :  I dont have to overcome Ego - “I” Or need to have better Intellect  - rein in my mind Rather I passively observe the reality That is all is necessary!

Passive awareness

Passive awareness Jiddu Krishnamurti Book of Life If my mind is occupied with the good Or occupied with the bad Then it is only concerned with the past So what is important is to find out How the mind is occupied! If it is occupied at all, its always Occupied with the past because All our consciousness is the past! Can the mind be free from occupation? Ie., can the mind be completely without being occupied And let the memory , the thoughts -good and bad, Go by without choosing? Yes, the past can never be put aside  There is a watching of the past as it goes by But not occupation with the past So the mind is free to observe  And not to choose! Passive awareness : To watch or observe without choosing - good or bad !

The “I”

The “I” Jiddu Krishnamurti Book of Life What is this “I” ? this “me” ? It is a name, form , a bundle of memories, Hopes, frustrations, longinggs, Pains, sorrows, passing joys!  We want this “me” to continue and become perfect  And so we say the beyond the “me” There is a “super-me” A higher self, A spiritual entity, Which is timeless But since we thave thought of it That spiritual entity is still within field of time Is it not? If we can think about it -  It is still within field of our reasoning!

Problem solving

@JamesClear "I split problems into two groups: muddy puddles and leaky ceilings. Some problems are like muddy puddles. The way to clear a muddy puddle is to leave it alone. The more you mess with it, the muddier it becomes. Many of the problems I dream up when I'm overthinking or worrying or ruminating fall into this category. Is life really falling apart or am I just in a sour mood? Is this as hard as I'm making it or do I just need to go workout? Drink some water. Go for a walk. Get some sleep. Go do something else and give the puddle time to turn clear. Other problems are like a leaky ceiling. Ignore a small leak and it will always widen. Relationship tension that goes unaddressed. Overspending that becomes a habit. One missed workout drifting into months of inactivity. Some problems multiply when left unattended. You need to intervene now. Are you dealing with a leak or a puddle?"

Physical Exercise

Exercise is one of the best things you can do to improve your mental health and performance. The discipline, resilience, and fortitude it takes to push yourself physically will carry over to all areas of your life. If you want a strong mind, build a strong body. Miles Hill | Health & Performance Coach for Men @lifelaunchmiles People ascribe exercise only to physical! Noooo! its Mental ! Exercise is all about mental ability! When you don't want to go out and  take a walk or jog or lift weights and then you decide to do that (somehow)  and you complete the exercise ,  you will feel a new You!  So exercise is Emotional Intelligence! It cuts the emotional rut and clutter and  repetitive thoughts! Run! Lift! Bend! Dont await motivation to exercise  Rather Exercise to motivate
