Edicts from Alcoholics Anonymous

I read through the Alcoholics Anonymous Website here and amended to my personal edicts!

Short Form
  1. Our common welfare should come first.
  2. For our group purpose there is but one ultimate authority—a loving God. Our leaders are but trusted servants.
  3. The only requirement for membership is to serve others.
  4. Each group should be autonomous except in matters affecting other groups or the program as a whole.
  5. Our purpose is to care about the things we do and help teach others to become as great as they can become.
  6. The group ought never endorse, finance, or lend its name to any outside enterprise.
  7. Every group ought to be fully self-supporting, declining outside contributions.
  8. The program should remain forever non-professional, but our service centers may employ special workers.
  9. The program, as such, ought never be organized; but we may create service boards or committees directly responsible to those they serve.
  10. The program has no opinion on outside issues; hence its name ought never be drawn into public controversy.
  11. Our public relations policy is based on attraction rather than promotion (word of mouth rather than marketing).
  12. Placing principles before personalities is the spiritual foundation of all our edicts.
