Walden , Henry David Thoreau
The true husbandman(agriculturist) will cease from anxiety
as the squirrels manifest no concern
whether woods will bear chestnuts this year or not-
and finish his labor everyday,
relinquishing all claim to the produce of his fields
and sacrificing in his mind-not only his first
but his last fruits as well!
Steven Pressfield, talks something similar about his Work ethic:
“I get up, take a shower, have a
breakfast…I put on my lucky boots and stitch up the lucky laces that my niece
Meredith gave me. I was my prayer…Its about Ten Thirty now. I sit down and
plunge in. After about 4 hours or so, I start making typos and I know I am
getting tired…I wrap for the day…Its 3:30 PM now…The office is closed…
How many pages have I produced ? I don’t
care
Are they any good? I don’t even think
about it
All that matters is I’ve put in my time and hit it with all I’ve got”
All that matters is , have you done your work!
Bhagavad Gita says :
- “You have the right to work but never to the fruit of work.”
