I don't count my sit-ups. I only start counting - when it starts hurting - because they are the only ones that count!
- Muhammad Ali , Champion Boxer
In the gym, as I run the treadmill at 9.5 KMPH speed, at the 1 minute mark, my mind starts yelling at me to stop ; Earlier I used to listen to my mind : but then I read David Goggins' 40% Rule:
"40% rule" suggests that when your mind tells you, you're done, you're only actually 40% done, and you still have 60% of your potential remaining, urging you to push past perceived limits"
So these days I continue running and now reached the 4 minute mark of endurance!
so please read on this article on the Pain Filter: by ReadswithRavi
I have a theory: If you put 80% you get 80%
If you put 100% - you get 1000% back;
the last 20% is where the magic happens!
Because, nobody is mad enough to go all in;
only a perfect storm of delusion, obsession and a pinch of childhood trauma
makes that extra 20% possible
It is the part that where you keep going,
long after logic says retreat
where you biggest weakness becomes your biggest strength -
an Inability to stop!
At a certain point, Success is not about luck or talent
Its about who is willing to suffer the longest
Pain is the great filter! - few pass it!
