Yoga

 The Bhagavad Gita

pg.29 : By Eknath Eswaran

In this text below : Eknath Eswaran : describes "What is Yoga? " as defined by the Bhagavad Gita

Yoga is the discipline , whereby a person disidentifies themselves

with conditions of perception in Maya

and wakes into a higher mode of knowing in which the Unity of Life is apprehended directly!

Yoga is then the state of Union :

comes from the sanskrit word : "Yuj"  : To yoke or bind together!

Yoga means you are making yourself : "Whole" - Undivided

which is the goal of spiritual life!

Yoga leads to the experience called : "Samadhi"  and the

state attained is called "Moksha" or "Nirvana"

which signifies going beyond the conditioning of Maya - Time, Space and Causality!

In this state : we realize we are not a physical creature

but the Atman - the (True)Self and not separate from the God!
