Seneca : Pg.16: Letters from a Stoic :
Quality of a great soul is to
scorn great things and
to prefer that is ordinary
Too rich a soil makes grain fall flat
Branches break under too heavy a load
Excessive productiveness does not bring a fruit to ripeness
so is the soul, that gets ruined by uncontrolled prosperity
Prefer that is ordinary
and you place yourself beyond the jurisdiction of Chance!
