Imagine a thin long column designed to hold an heavy load sitting on it!
Can you imagine how the column can fail under the load?
Bend, Buckle or crush under the weight itself;
Now then can you go on to prevent the above failures?
By making the column a bit thicker or adding one more column?
Life is like that too:
1. Brainstorm and do a premortem: for failures that can occur in your life - Use 6 Thinking Hats
2. Identify the failure modes - Fire, Job Risk, Health hazard etc.,
3. Now define load paths to mitigate the failures - New learning, Insurance etc.,Solve it like an Engineer!
