What are you discontented about?

 Epictetus:

 

What are you discontented about?

 Badness of men?

Now,will you recall that rational animals exist for one another

And that to endure is part of justice

And consider how many already after 

Mutual enmity hatred suspicion and fighting 

Have been stretched dead reduced to ashes

And be quiet at last

What are you discontented about?

That which is assigned to you as part of this universe?

A mere fortuitous concurrence of things

A mere collections if atoms- of gold,silver,paper, concrete

Fleeting materialistic pleasures  - that are transient

For the only thing is soul and providence

And everything be quiet at last
