- Deep inhale through the nose.
- Body scan for stress, consciously trying to relax any places where you hold tension.
- Say your focus word or intention (be present, compassion, focus, energy, patience, relax, etc.).
- Release your breath, again through the nose.
- Smile.
Repeat this routine through the day (20 to 30 times per day would be great), as the power lies in the repetition. This is because, every time you practice , neurons are being fired that eventually will rewire your brain.
