Life without design is erratic Seneca
Inspired by Ryan Holiday Blogpost
You can lead your life in 2 ways: By Design and by default (Autopilot) :
Most of us lead a life in Default mode: we let the environment decide the priorities of the day, week, month, year, and Life;
Then we become like the driftwood in the river- being sloshed from one bank of the river to another
No real progress - but only unnecessary tossing up here and there;
Seneca calls this as Life without a design -
Stoics feel that this is torture: When you can do anything each day: you will do anything
You keep doing things on the fly - the decision fatigue then causes evaporation of motivation
It's like trying to build an architectural marvel - without a blue-print!
Impossible!
Arnold bennett : talks about this in his book How to live 24 hours a day
