Buckminster Fuller admonished the evils of excessive
specialization.
Teaching has fallen into academic pigeon-holes.
"Everything takes place in a pigeon-hole. Pigeon-holes
cannot be avoided as we need specialization.
But we need few people who run about the woodwork
between pigeon-holes - peep into all of them -
and see what can be done-
by this these folks are not closed to disciplines
