pg.64 : Meditations : Book 11
if you hear a pleasing song and dance
and you are captivated by it-
well, will you do one thing?
if you will distribute the melody of voice
into several sounds-
and ask yourself - If you are still captivated by it?
if you will divide the dance into small movements
will you still be captivated by it?
In all things, then except virtue and acts of virtue
remember to apply yourself to their several parts!
and by this division -you will come to value them little!
My note:
When something captivates you by its appearance:
divide it into its elements : to assess the real value!
