The Road Taken!

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
                                                            ……………………
                                                            …………………..
                                                            …………………..
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

                                                                            - The Road Not Taken …Robert Frost

We will be at cross-roads at some point in our life where we have to make a choice …the choice of which makes all the difference.  Depending on who you are , you may take the road that is most traveled by or the one that is less traveled…

To me though, that must not be the point of debate for long…Point  is , once having decided which road to be taken , are we focused on the current road, enough? As an example, If you keep thinking “What if I had chosen the other road?”  and start ruminating about it, …you lose motivation…you keep thinking of turning back time and again…complaining about the environmental factors that one cannot control ! Keep sulking at your decision in hindsight ! Your progress on the current road comes to a grinding halt...

On the other hand, you commit yourself to the current road…accept it with all the potholes and roadblocks …burn the bridges that you pass, so as not to think of return back…that make you battle-hardened to face the problems …You end up seeing a change in yourself for the better! A change that appreciates the effort that you have put through irrespective of the result!  More importantly ,you keep making progress!

So you see…the issue is not really due to The Road Not Taken …It is really about how you traverse The Road Taken!

How to live on 24 hours a day

Arnold Bennett was a prolific author in the early 20th Century. I read his book "How to live on 24 hours a day" He explains his process in his book : that resulted him in being a prolific author: following are the learning: even in the busiest week, find 7-1/2 hours of time beyond the work ; Focus those 7-1/2 hours on thinking Time practice honest self-reflection using the below questions: what do want for yourself? what motivates you? what scares you? what embarrasses you? What are you proud of? What beliefs do you have that might be wrong? Are you caring for yourself or harsh with yourself? Authors Arnold Bennett
