There is no voodoo in Life!

There is no voodoo
We are amazed at the Sachin Tendulkar’s  records and his earnings ! …we think what a Magic
Our jaws drop looking at the grand plans for the next film release of Rajinikanth and his demi-god status ! … we think how fortunate he is
We scratch our head on seeing  Satya Nadella’s per annum pay package of Rs.112 Crore! …we think how lucky he is…
Most of us look at the Trailblazers, think of  them in terms of the Money they possess or other idiosyncratic statistics and think that they attained their status because of some magic….is it so?
My philosophy is “there is no voodoo about anything we deal in Life”…so you may ask me , well Mr.Highbrow , then can you please deconstruct the successes of Mr.Tendulkar or Rajini or Nadella for us?  …you may well ask me then why without “magic” there is just one Tendulkar,Rajini or Satya among the billions ….
Well…Ah…Hum…Errrrr…let me try my 5 cents of success tips ….
Sachin Tendulkar made his debut for India at the age of 16 years…Can you imagine !!!  all of 16 years , playing at the highest level…To give an equivalent, it is like you at 16 years  joining your current profession and performing at the level of well accomplished peers !!!  It is purely the skill, focus and the application of both in real time. And think when would he have decided to take up cricket as a profession ? my guess is that around when he was around 12 years …Oh My god...Now think of how many grown-ups (including Yours Truly) can take such a mature decision.  It is no wonder Mr.Tendulkar minted money…can you see ? there is no voodoo here …purely Skill , Focus and Application
Rajinikanth was a bus conductor in Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corp., Bangalore , just when his friend and driver friend Raj Bahadur prodded him to travel to Chennai to do an acting course. Now do you think it would have an easy decision for a man who got to leave his job as a conductor in a government corporation , given his modest background ? Nevertheless he did it…He risked whatever he had at that time…an attempt that could have turned as much fatal as it turned out to be fabulous…How many among a billion have such guts to leave whatever they have ….There is no voodoo …Is it not?

Satya Nadella, in his first email to his employees , after taking over as CEO of Microsoft, says this to says about himself
“I am 46. I’ve been married for 22 years and we have 3 kids. And like anyone else, a lot of what I do and how I think has been shaped by my family and my overall life experiences. Many who know me say I am also defined by my curiosity and thirst for learning. I buy more books than I can finish. I sign up for more online courses than I can complete. I fundamentally believe that if you are not learning new things, you stop doing great and useful things. So family, curiosity and hunger for knowledge all define me. “
It is this curiosity and Learning that motivated him to fly between Seattle … (where he worked) and Chicago (Booth School of Business), a good 6 hours of travel by air every week for 2 years !....Friends do you see any voodoo here?  I see only hardwork and Focus….
Hardwork, Focus,Risk Taking,Application and Skills…all happen deliberately…There is no voodoo in anything we do in Life….Every success and failure can be peeled back !
Hope I convinced you...Please write to me about your thoughts on this !

How to live on 24 hours a day

Arnold Bennett was a prolific author in the early 20th Century. I read his book "How to live on 24 hours a day" He explains his process in his book : that resulted him in being a prolific author: following are the learning: even in the busiest week, find 7-1/2 hours of time beyond the work ; Focus those 7-1/2 hours on thinking Time practice honest self-reflection using the below questions: what do want for yourself? what motivates you? what scares you? what embarrasses you? What are you proud of? What beliefs do you have that might be wrong? Are you caring for yourself or harsh with yourself? Authors Arnold Bennett

Repeat the Basics!

When you repeat the basics You don't only become great - you will stay great! -Darius Foroux Repeat 🔂 the basics of many things in your Life: 1. Fitness - Walking  2. Philosophy - read your favorite Author - everyday! 3. Kindness - random act of giving  4. Business -  What is the purpose of business? 5. Writing  -  Read the "The Elements of Style - Strunk & White"  Its very simple : Figure out the basics of the given field : 5-6 principles And repeat them day after day Back to the Basics! If you do so , you will lead a life with chronic White-belt mentality 😅 leading to Humility  even if your performance is that of a Master Black-belt! If you do so,  you not only become an expert of the field you will stay as one!

Focus

Focus on 30 minutes at a time on a given topic with concentration The Human Machine Arnold Bennett My Habits: 30 minutes of walking 30 minutes of reading 30 minutes of Yoga 30 minutes of reflection 30 minutes of focus on each task -with concentration Say to your brain - FROM 9:AM TO 9:30 AM THIS MORNING YOU MUST DWELL WITHOUT CEASING ON A PARTICULAR TOPIC THAT I WILL GIVE YOU Authors Arnold Bennett
